Isaiah 66:13-14 (Common English Bible)

13 As a mother comforts her child,
       so I will comfort you;
       in Jerusalem you will be comforted.

14 When you see this, your heart will rejoice;
        your entire being will flourish like grass.

Summary: Christ is Risen! Throughout Eastertide, we worship with the theme, “We,”  for we are a people of the resurrection, we are the risen body of Christ!

The resurrection of Jesus reveals that God loves us beyond measure. A mother’s love can convert fear into freedom and when we receive the love of God through Jesus Christ, we grow in faith, joy, courage and hope.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What are the characteristics of a good mother?
  2. God promises to comfort Jerusalem as a mother comforts a child. How has God been a comfort to you?
  3. This week, how can you give love to the mothers who have blessed you?
