We Are Witnesses. (Luke 24:45-48) // April 15, 2018

Luke 24:45-48 (Common English Bible)

45 Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures. 46 He said to them, “This is what is written: the Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47  and a change of heart and life for the forgiveness of sins must be preached in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48  You are witnesses of these things.

Summary: Christ is Risen! Throughout Eastertide, we worship with the theme, “We,”  for we are a people of the resurrection, we are the risen body of Christ!

To witness is to see an event take place or to testify as evidence to the event’s happening. As a people of the resurrection, we are witnesses. As witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus, we have a responsibility to testify to others the good news of hope through Christ to all people.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What have you witnessed God do in your life?
  2. What have you witnessed God resurrect in us as a church and community?
  3. How have you testified to God’s work this month? Where can you testify this week?
